Roundtable Discussions on Intellectual Property (IP) Commercialization in the framework of the Enabling IP Environment (EIE) Project was held at Renuka City Hotel, Colombo 03 from June 18 to 19, 2018. The event was organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in cooperation with the Coordinating Secretariat for Science, Technology and innovation (COSTI), Ministry of Science, Technology & Research and the National Intellectual Property Office of Sri Lanka (NIPO), Ministry of Industry and Commerce with assistance of Japan Patent Office (JPO).

The roundtable was co-chaired by Mr David Simmons, Councellor, WIPO and Dr Richard S. Cahoon, Adjunct Professor, Cornell University. Discussions were related to EIE Project Steering Committee Formation, Comments on Project Terms of Reference (TOR) Template, Institutional IP Policy Issues, Institutional technology Transfer Office (TTO) Operations, Structure and Topics for Tech Transfer & Commercialization workshop II (tentatively planned for September, 2018).
