With reference to the first WIPO mission of IP Hub Project held on 15th to 17th June, 2016 in Colombo, a follow up program was organized by NIPO in collaboration with Coordinating Secretariat for Science Technology and Innovation (COSTI), Ministry of Science Technology & Research on 10th September (Saturday) 2016 to facilitate further discussion on IP Hub Project from 2.30 pm – 6.00 pm at Nelum Hall, Waters Edge, Battaramulla. Key Speakers were Dr. Richard Cahoon (Consultant to WIPO), Former Director of technology transfer at Cornell University, Ms. Yumiko Hamano (Consultant to WIPO), Former Project Coordinator, WIPO University Initiative Program, Innovation and Technology Transfer Section, Mr. Mussadiq Hussein, Technology and Innovation support Center (TISC), WIPO. Before the implementation of the project in Sri Lanka, WIPO consultants will assess the level of innovation and problems in the technology commercialization process. Based on the assessment, capacity building programmes will be organized for universities and R & D Institutions and technical assistance will be provided to fill the gaps identified.
