World Intellectual Property (IP) Day -2021

Every year, on 26th April, we celebrate the World Intellectual Property Day (IP Day) with the aim of increasing general understanding of intellectual property among the world community. As of the previous year, this year too, the World Intellectual Property Day is taking place in unprecedented circumstances imposed by Covid-19 pandemic situation.

Following 2 events have been lined up

01) Webinar on the Madrid Protocol and its Effective Use

We are pleased to inform that a Webinar (on the Microsoft Teams platform) will be conducted by The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) “Madrid Protocol and its Effective Use.”

• Proposed date – Friday April 23, 2021 form 9.00am – 10.30am (Sri Lanka time)

• Topic – The Madrid Protocol and Its Effective Use

• Target Audience – Registered IP Agents and Lawyers

02) Meeting with IP agents

A meeting will be held with the IP Agents and any other interested parties who wish to discuss matters pertaining to their Trademarks, Patent and Industrial Design applications.

Please be informed that some files which have not been finalized due to non-completion by applicants will be taken up at this meeting with an aim to finalize same early and to discuss any issues in respect of such files.
