As the next event under the WIPO/NIPO EIE Project (Enabling IP Environment project), Coordinating Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation (COSTI), Ministry of Technology & Innovation and the National Intellectual Property Office in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) non organized a patent prior art search training course from 17th -20th February 2020 at Miloda Academy of Financial Studies, Colombo 01.
Participants of this workshop are EIE project members, University UBL units, NIPO patent examiners and TISC staff members.
The workshop objectives are as follows,
- Patent information search and analysis of claims (of prior art);
- An exploration of free Patent databases of many regions (United States, European Patent Office, Japan & Korea, WIPO),
- Conducting Practical Searches (in EPO’s ESPACENET, WIPO PATENSCOPE, USPTO)
- Patent Classification Systems & Searches
- Novelty & Inventive Step Patentability Searches; and
- Conducting Patent Searches on your own technologies
